The Retreat occupies a secluded position on The Abbots development. French doors open onto the south west facing timber deck with balustrading all round, where established planting makes this sun trap a private space to enjoy the hot tub.

On entering the lodge you are greeted with a spacious open plan living area with a vaulted ceiling, flooded with light from large windows, a roof light and French doors. A large corner sofa features in the living area, with a custom-built storage and TV unit providing a focal point.

The dining area comfortably holds a large Turin dining set with a glass-topped table and six scoop back chairs. South facing double French doors allow the flow of inside to blend with the outdoors.

The kitchen is finished in a contemporary ultragloss light grey with slim chrome handles. The worktop is Technistone in Brilliant White and forms a breakfast bar with faux leather bar stools. A Belling eye-level double oven, five ring gas hob with stainless steel extractor above, and integrated stainless steel Belling microwave sit alongside a dishwasher, fridge and freezer, all integrated.

The master bedroom has a padded headboard, bedside drawers and two wardrobe doors finished in ultragloss Japanese Pear, with a Zoffany wallpaper feature wall behind the bed. A mirrored sliding door between the wardrobe doors conceals the en-suite. The en-suite has a generous shower enclosure with a drencher head and separate handheld attachment, Fossil Smoke tiles forming a feature wall in the shower and on the floor, a large chrome heated towel rail, and an LED-lit mirror above the basin with a wall-hung, high gloss vanity unit below.

The second bedroom is a good size, with twin beds and a movable night table. The oversized headboard, in a gloss Metallic Anthracite finish, runs across the back wall, with matching mirrored sliding doors concealing a large wardrobe.

The family bathroom comprises a full bath with shower over, vanity with basin, large mirror, chrome heated towel rail and WC, finished in Azteca tiles.

There is an externally accessed integral store to the rear with space for golf clubs, bikes and other leisure equipment, and plumbing for a washing machine.

Outside, the south west facing deck catches the sun for most of the day, a quiet spot to sit out with the hot tub going and watch the evening settle in.
